World of Sofas opens 10 stores and promises five more in London by Boxing Day; £240 fabric sofa launch offer
6th October 2009 | upholstery | World of Sofas, the new upholstery chain from the founders of Land of Leather, has opened ten stores across the UK - including eight in Scotland, one in Wales, and the former La Galleria store in Thurrock.
The founders, who include Paul Briant, Steve Dowdall and Peter Ling, have vowed to open five stores in London alone by Christmas, as they look to build a 50 store chain within five years.
The Scottish stores are in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Inverness, Paisley, Stevenston and Uddingston, while the Welsh store is in Cardiff.
The product portfolio spans at least 32 sofa ranges, with price architecture spanning £240 - £1299. The product mix is approximately 50/50 across leather and fabric and the range includes motion upholstery and corner units.
Standout launch offers include its Brooke fabric sofa at £240 and its Carly corner unit in fabric/leather mix at £479.
