Wallace King Interiors bucks sales trend as store redevelopment pays off
26th February | independents | Four-store independent furniture retailer Wallace King Interiors has increased its turnover by more than 10% following the recent revamp of its Diss store. The retailer doubled the floor space to 12,000sq ft and reopened the showroom at the end of the year.
It now plans similar refurbs at its other stores, starting with a redevelopment of its Norwich showroom. The furniture retailer also has stores in Cambridge and Feltwell, Suffolk, and is among the largest independents in the east of England.
It sells brands including Stressless, Silentnight, G-Plan and Millbrook Beds, and its improved performance lends weight to reports that the lower end of the market and national chains in particular are suffering more in the current downturn.
