Sales up 13% for soft furnishings giant WG, «Very successful first half»

28.07.2010

Walker Greenbank chairman Terry Stannard will today tell shareholders that sales for the first six months of the year are 13% higher than the first half of 2009, and that its performance is well ahead of management expectations.

Ahead of the company's AGM today, it has released numbers for the first half showing it expects revenue to reach at least £33m to 31st July and for trading profit to double to about £2m compared to last year. Profit before tax will rise from £0.57m to £2.1m.

Walker Greenbank is the parent company to soft furnishings brands including Sanderson and Harlequin in the mid-market and Zoffany towards the top end. The latter, said Stannard, has returned to growth but the bulk of the uplift comes from its mid-market offer.
