Tempur, «Dreams important to our growth plan» Sales up 40%+ worldwide

The global boss of mattress and pillow supplier Tempur-Pedic says the addition of UK retailer Dreams to its stockist portfolio in the last quarter was an important part of its growth plan for Europe.

 

Mark Sarvary, chief executive, was speaking to analysts at the end of the company's Q2 conference call this week, where it reported revenues 42% higher year on year at $263m for the second quarter of 2010. Full year revenues are expected to be worth $1.06bn - $1.1bn.

 

Mr Sarvary said, "The addition of Dreams was a very important part of the growth in the U.K. and Europe overall and there are other customers that we expect to be announcing soon."

 

Tempur also said its had been carrying out research across Europe to gauge potential consumer receptiveness to a softer line of mattresses.

 

The five most recently filed accounts for Tempur's UK business ('04-'08) show annual revenues were worth an average of just under £26m.
