Exeter furniture and flooring independent sees 19.4% turnover fall
10th August 2009 | independents | Devon furniture retailer Stoneman & Bowker recorded a £350,000 drop in turnover in the year to 30th September 2008, with resulting pre-tax losses of £31,707.
Just filed accounts show sales of £1.46m were down nearly 20% on the year before, when the firm reported a pre-tax profit of £38,633 on a turnover of £1.81m. The firm’s sales in the four prior years were also consistently around the £1.8m mark.
The AIS independent has two stores and is regarded as one of the best furniture retailers in the South West – stocking a range of furniture and flooring brands including Parker Knoll, Old Charm and Ulster Carpets.
