UK md to leave Steens; Sales director primed to take over

 

16th December 2009 | pine | Steens UK sales director Alan Cozens is to succeed Keith Robinson as md when he steps down from his role with the Danish furniture manufacturer in February.

 

Robinson is to launch a marketing company, and according to trade journal Interiors Monthly, he has already struck an agreement with Steens owner Claus Steen Sorenson for the Danish firm to be his first client.

 

Cozens joined Steens UK office this summer, after holding previous roles within the industry at both JayBe and Christie-Tyler.

 

In the year to 30th April, Steens Furniture (UK) made an operating profit of £0.1m from sales of £0.8m - its best return in five years. During that time its highest UK sales figure came in 2006, when it generated revenues of £1.2m.

 

Robinson is also a director of Southampton based online furniture retailer Furniture 2 Go (www.furniture-2-go.co.uk), which sells solid Scandinavian pine furniture at discount prices.
