Contract supplier consolidates furniture offer; Partners DHL

10th March 2010

One of the UK's largest office supplies distributors is to consolidate its furniture offer into a central warehouse in Lutterworth to improve its delivery service.

Spicers, which supplies office products to resellers, says centralising its furniture warehousing and partnering with logistics firm DHL will enable it to complete more deliveries first time, with fewer returns owing to customers not being present to collect.

It also says having furniture in one location will cut down on the number of touch points, reducing damage, and allow dealers to better understand current stock levels. Customers will also be able to use DHL's website to track and trace deliveries.
