Ex-Bensons bosses show their hand at Sleepright

Six months after hiring two senior managers from competitor Bensons for Beds, the Carpetright owned Sleepright business has unveiled details of its coordinated updated beds offer.
Bill Carrahar, who was md at Bensons, and former commercial director Paul Burgham, were hired last July and charged with taking on the established elite in the beds retail sector, including their former paymasters.
Sleepright was acquired by Carpetright in 2008 but had until recently taken a back seat at the group. However, beds have taken on greater significance over the past year to the chain, as the company sought to end the sleepless nights caused by the broader malaise in the floorcoverings sector.
The chain's beds offer has been defined into six brands - majoring on products sourced from the Silentnight and Simmons bed manufacturing and distribution groups. The ranges are called the Silentnight Collection; I-Fusion Beds; Rest Assured Beds; Sleepeezee Back-Care; Sleepeezee Pocket Sovereign; and an entry level range branded Price Right.
