Service Technicians to launch insurance operation with accompanying retail voucher scheme
13th October 2009 | services | Furniture complaint resolution operation Service Technicians is to work with insurance providers to pilot a scheme that would value and validate claims for damaged furniture.
The company, part of Fira International, will also draw up a list of approved retailers whereby consumers could spend vouchers, using a credit card style system, to replace furniture when their insurance claim has been validated.
Service Technicians currently works with its retail customers to enter consumers' homes and independently assess whether complaints related to furniture bought from clients' stores are valid, and where appropriate, offer a repair service.
The insurance scheme would work in a similar way, although Service Technician's clients would be insurance companies or hubs. It is thought most current furniture insurance claims are paid out as there are few companies able to independently verify if a claim is genuine or otherwise.
