Cabinet maker gets protection from creditors and hopes to find buyer within the next week

03.09.2010

The owners of furniture manufacturer Pinetum have received temporary protection from creditors while they try and find a buyer for the business.

The Warminster cabinet maker has lodged a notice of intention to appoint an administrator, which places a ringfence around the business for a few days while a buyer is sought.

Intense trade rumours over the company's status prompted it to release a statement to the trade press. It said, "Pinetum is in interim moratorium and is meeting with prospective buyers to take over the business as a going concern."

A member of the Pinetum team said two parties had so far expressed an interest in buying the company, and they hoped to have further clarity within a week.
