No troubled waters for £40m furnishings chain as bed sales help it to 18% uplift
1st March 2010
Soft furnishings retailer Paul Simon says a full year of bed sales helped it grow turnover by almost a fifth in the year to 31st May.
Operating profits climbed to £0.35m from £0.2m as sales reached £41.4m.
The retailer, which besides beds majors in window dressings and soft furnishings, has almost 50 stores, primarily across southern England.
The Silentnight suite of bed brands make up a significant proportion of its beds offer.
At an operating level, the firm's strongest year in the past half decade came in 2007, when it made £1.9m from a £33.6m turnover.
