National Floor Show to switch from Harrogate to Birmingham in 2010
9th September 2009 | events | The organiser of the UK's largest dedicated flooring trade show will switch the event from its Harrogate location to the NEC in Birmingham next year and bring the dates forward by three months to June.
UBM Live, which also runs the Interiors show in January, says the move will mean more visitors from across England, but the main benefit for UBM may be that it opens the door to more international exhibitors, particularly from the Benelux nations.
The decision is likely to spark controversy - Harrogate is popular with many existing exhibitors and visitors, and a prior consultation in recent years to shift the venue away from the town was shelved following a 'beauty pageant' for exhibitors at Manchester Central.
The 2009 National Floor Show finishes tomorrow.
