Natuzzi UK retail sales jump 64% on the back of store openings but profit remains elusive

14th October 2009 | upholstery | Sales for the UK retail operation of Italian sofa manufacturer Natuzzi jumped more than 60% to £11.35m in 2008 thanks to its new Manchester store and an increase in the number of concessions within House of Fraser department stores.

But profits for the company remain hard to come by. Operating losses, which stood at £2.76m in 2007, rose again, to £3.05m.

To the end of its latest financial period, the leather sofa firm had four standalone UK stores and 17 concessions, including one in Selfridges. The Italian firm is also represented by galleries within a number of independents throughout the UK.
