Sales rise at sofa retailer Multiyork but profit margin falls

22nd June 2009 | retail | Upholstery retailer Multiyork saw sales rise 2.5% in the past year but the company was unable to replicate the £2.19m pre-tax profit it returned in 2007 – instead seeing its margin trimmed to a skinny 0.8%.

The firm recorded sales of £48.53m in the year to 28th September, according to accounts filed at Companies House, and a pre-tax profit of £398,000.

Multiyork has 59 stores in England and one in Wales. 13 of its stores are clearance outlets.
