MFI stores to be rebranded The Range by millionaire trader

20th February | retail | At least nine former MFI stores are likely to be rebranded following the £68m stock purchase by Chris Dawson, the founder of 37-store chain The Range.

The stores will become The Range stores on a permanent basis and more outlets added in the future, dependent on the progress of the MFI stock clearance.

40% of the MFI stock bought by Dawson just over three weeks ago has already been sold, he says. The stock is being sold through concessions in selected The Range stores, as well as at a host of former MFI sites, chiefly in London. Products are also being sold online.

Dawson is planning to open more ex-MFI stores to sell the remainder of the goods, with Brighton and Lewisham opening today (Friday) and others, including Plymouth, High Wycombe and Hayes opening soon.
