DFS founder & Carpetright chief part of BFC All Party Furniture Group

Furniture and flooring industry heavyweights Lord Kirkham and Lord Harris are the two marquee names to join the reformed All Party Parliamentary Furniture Industry Group.

The Group exists to champion the UK furniture industry in Parliament and in the wider political arena, and was instigated by the British Furniture Confederation (BFC).

DFS founder Lord Kirkham and Carpetright chairman Lord Harris of Peckham are joined by other peers and MPs as Group members, including Stephen McPartland, MP for Stevenage, who is to become the Group's new chair.

The BFC was formed in 2005 to act as the single voice of the UK furniture industry, by bringing together the views of the sectors' assorted trade bodies.
