Headlam to extend Lifestyle Floors brand beyond carpets, profit up 10%

Floorcoverings distributor Headlam says it will broaden the launch of its Lifestyle Floor brand beyond carpets and into vinyl, wood and laminate later this year.

 

Headlam, which owns 49 autonomously run flooring suppliers in the UK, says the Lifestyle brand initiative has been well received by independent retailers, and expects the brand extention to deepen its market penetration.

 

The announcement came as the company registered its interim results. Profits before tax for the half year to end June were up 10% to £8.473m, while group revenues were up 0.6% at £254.884m.

 

During the six month period, like for like sales in the UK climbed 0.3%. Tony Brewer, chief executive, said July and August had so far been positive when compared against the same months last year.
