7th December 2009 | anti-dumping | Sofa manufacturer and retailer La-Z-Boy has received $3m in anti-dumping duties from the Government in the United States.
According to US trade journal Furniture Today, it is one of several furniture manufacturers to be given the funds, which are designed to offset the damage caused to US industry by Chinese manufacturers shipping in goods at below market prices.
The paper adds that La-Z-Boy was awarded $8.1m last year, and $7.1m the year before for similar reasons.
