Soft furnishings form bulk of new John Lewis home store range
15th October 2009 | retail | John Lewis' new Home store in Poole will carry fewer than 30 beds and sofas - but hundreds of soft furnishing lines, lights and home accessories.
The two storey 40,000sq ft store, slated for a 22nd October opening, was feared to be a major threat to independent retailers, but the initial focus appears to be on driving lower priced homeware than big-ticket furniture. Its entry point for pillows will be £4.
John Lewis says the store will house 750 types of lights and more than 100 duvets, as well as a host of kitchenware. Home electricals will also be a major part of the product mix.
