JJO profit halves on £2.6m sales fall

 

27th July 2009 | manufacturing | Profits at bedroom and kitchen furniture manufacturer JJO have more than halved in the past year.

 

The northwest firm returned a pre-tax profit of £436,000 in the year to 28th February – down from £968,000 in the same period the year before.

 

Sales fell from £41.18m to £38.53m.

 

On a positive note, the Rossendale firm has recently won the North West Best Environmental Practice Award in the large business category. The gong was awarded for changes the firm made to its manufacturing processes, which have saved six million kWh of natural gas and electricity.
