Celebrity Motion Furniture stars as JDP Group grows turnover to £49.1m

 

11th August 2009 | manufacturing | Rise and recline upholstery manufacturer Celebrity Motion Furniture has delivered a 4% pre-tax profit growth for its JDP Furniture parent company, despite group profits falling 34% to £571,000.

 

Turnover for the Long Eaton based furniture group, which besides Celebrity also includes Wade Upholstery, Cintique, YP Furniture and Parker & Farr, climbed to its highest level since 2004 as 2008 sales jumped 5.4% to £49.1m.

 

Pre-tax profits fell from £865,000 to £571,000 in the year to the end of last September, while Celebrity’s numbers show a pre-tax profit for the year of £2.2m – up from £1.4m back in 2004.

 

Of the group’s other subsidiaries, Welbeck House, thought to include the Wade Upholstery brand, saw pre-tax profits fall from £571,000 to £89,000. Figures for YP, Parker & Farr, Cintique and JDP Frames were not reported.
