Ties grow stronger between Italian sofa firms; Joint venture set for debut
26th March | upholstery | Sofa manufacturers Calia Italia and Nicoletti will unveil a new brand, dubbed Italian Homes, at the High Point furniture exhibition in North Carolina next month. The two Italian suppliers collaboration cements a relationship that started last Autumn when Nicoletti resumed production by using a part of Calia’s factory.
Earlier in the year Nicoletti, which was housed in one of Europe’s largest manufacturing plants, had collapsed into administration and later entered a voluntary liquidation process.
Italian Homes is a 40-model leather line with products manufactured in both Italy and China. Both Calia and Nicoletti hail from the southern Italian town of Matera, home to a number of Italy’s leather upholstery suppliers and a ten minute drive from Natuzzi, the world’s leading sofa manufacturer.
