New CEO at Ikea; 10-year veteran Dahlvig to leave post in September

24th April | management | Anders Dahlvig is to end his 10-year stint as Ikea’s chief executive officer on 1st September. He will be replaced by Mikael Ohlsson, who is currently in charge of the retailer’s business in Southern Europe and North America.

Ohlsson has been with the Swedish flatpack furniture retailer for 30 years, after starting out in the firm’s carpet department in its homeland. Ikea has 296 stores across the world, and recently opened in Southampton, one of two new UK and Ireland stores planned for this year.
