June marked turning of the tide, says Headlam; Reports 8.4% UK sales fall since January
19th November 2009 | supply | Flooring distributor Headlam says UK trading has been on the up since June and that it is now seeing like for like gains compared to 2008.
The firm, which runs regional and national carpet and hard flooring wholesale businesses across the UK and Europe, has seen revenues drop 8.4% in the UK since January, to about £356m.
Despite weak comparatives, Headlam management say the tide turned in June, and recent trading up until November suggests that like for like gains will continue and it will meet its expectations for 2009.
It reiterated, however, that its gross margin has been 'adversely affected' by changes to its product mix.
