Habitat owner appoints new executive chairman

Hilco, the retail turnaround business that acquired Habitat at the end of last year, has hired Phil Wrigley to be executive chairman of the furniture retailer.

Wrigley is the former chairman of value oriented fashion retailer New Look.

Habitat was the second home furnishings business bought by Hilco in 2009, after it acquired flooring chain Allied Carpets when the retailer fell into administration.
