12th February | cabinet | Gleneagle Furniture is to close one of its two factories. The bedroom cabinet manufacturer will close its Welsh factory on the Cibyn Industrial Estate in Caernarfon with 65 employees losing their jobs.

The firm’s plant in Ireland, which employs 220 people, is unaffected and remains open. A spokesman for the firm stressed, ‘We have not gone into administration or anything like that and we will continue to trade.’

He added that there was no longer enough business to keep both factories running and also cited the weak pound as having caused problems.

The firm manufactures a host of bedroom cabinet furniture and bedsteads.
