Timing row provokes show launch in outdoor furnishings sector
15th June 2009 | exhibitions | Outdoor furniture buyers face a choice between three summer trade shows following the launch of a new event scheduled for earlier in the year.
Gardening Expo will take place at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry from 28-30th June 2010, one month before Solex, the event run by outdoor furniture manufacturers’ trade body Lofa, and three months before Glee, the established market leader.
One of the reason Solex was launched a couple of years ago was the view that Glee took place too late in the year, with the organisers saying if it was slated for July the event would never have been launched.
Now, Clarion Events has gone even further by launching in June, and has the backing of two further trade groups – the Horticultural Trades Association and Gardenex, the Federation of Garden and Leisure Manufacturers.
