Margins squeezed at Furniture Village as profits hit five year low
18th September 2009 | retail | Mid-market retailer Furniture Village made a pre-tax profit of £2.4m in the year to the end of March after sales fell almost 10% to £162m.
In the past five years its next lowest profit came in 2006 when it returned £4.7m from a £138m turnover.
In 2008, Furniture Village made a £7.4m pre-tax profit from sales of £178.7m. The chain is gearing up for the launch of its recently acquired World of Leather brand - and has registered the following trademarks in advance of its introduction.
