New chief executive for the FTBA
16th January | people | The Furnishing Trades' Benevolent Association's (FTBA) new chief executive is former RAF squadron leader Charles Kerrigan.
He takes over from interim chief executive Nigel Blake on February 2 and will also work as clerk designate for the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers (WCFM) which shares premises with the FTBA at Furniture Makers' Hall in Austin Friars, London.
'I join the FTBA at a challenging but immensely interesting time," said Kerrigan who spent 26 years in the Air Force as an aero systems engineer. 'The FTBA has a long and distinguished history and I am committed to ensuring its continuing role as the industry's only dedicated charity.
'Along with the WCFM, the charity is a vital part of the furnishings industry. While very different organisations, it will be my role to explore and develop synergy between the two while maintaining the equal importance and profile of both.'
