Opportunistic Feather & Black targets London expansion as it turns attention away from divans
3rd August 2009 | beds | Retailer Feather & Black says it would open another five stores today if the right sites were available. The bed retailer is looking to increase on its 30-store portfolio and has pinpointed London as an area for growth.
The firm, part of the £70m Wade Group empire that also includes upholstery chain Multiyork, improved like for like sales by 10% in the four months to 30th July.
Founder Adam Black told trade paper Retail Week that it had reconfigured its stores to accommodate more lifestyle roomsets and fewer undressed divans over the past half year. He added that the firm was being approached by landlords and would open stores immediately if suitable sites were to come on to the market.
