Carpet workers awarded £80,000 by employment tribunal
24th June 2009 | flooring | Former employees of Kidderminster carpet manufacturer Enterprise Weaving Company have been awarded £80,000 by an Employment Tribunal.
The 14 workers were told they were losing their jobs but were given no prior warning or consultation, a tribunal in Birmingham heard. The compensation packages average £6,000 per employee, but doubts over whether the carpet firm is about to become insolvent mean collecting the funds may prove troublesome.
