Private equity groups prepare to make £500m bid for DFS
31st January 2010
A host of private equity groups are circling sofa retailer DFS with a view to bidding a reported £500m for the company.
The Sunday Times newspaper this morning claimed outgoing Debenhams chairman John Lovering would team up with private equity group Permira to attempt to buy the retailer, which founder Lord Kirkham has hinted may be sold or floated for a second time on the Stock Market.
Newspaper reports also cite other groups, including Advent International and Cinven, as possible suitors for the 78-store retailer.
