Family owned sofa chain grows sales by 77%; Profits climb to £4.2m

North west upholstery chain CSL says turnover grew to £72.5m in 2009 with pre tax earnings rising seven-fold to £4.8m.
The 16-store retailer's previous profits high came in 2006, when it made £3.5m. Assorted press reports today put the year on year sales rise at 51%, but official figures lodged with Companies House suggest the rise was even more marked - at a near 80% uplift from £41m in 2008.
In 2007 the retailer made £2.9m from sales of £35.8m.
