Corndell returns profit and hopes to match 2008 performance
4th June 2009 | manufacturing | Cabinet supplier Corndell Furniture says it is confident it can match its 2008 performance during the course of this year. The Oxfordshire firm, which has a turnover of about £15m, returned an operating profit of £68,965 in the year to 31st July.
The firm said sales were broadly in line with the previous year.
Brian Ahern, md, told the Furnishing Report it was increasing the number of times it met with customers, with the firm holding its first ever At Home show recently. The manufacturer and importer will also exhibit at the Mid-Point exhibition shortly, in addition to its regular attendance at January’s Interiors Birmingham show.
He said the evidence suggests things on the high street are improving, and that he doesn’t expect the market to worsen in the months ahead. ‘We want to take as many opportunities to meet with our retailers as we can,’ he added.
The supplier said it was also pleased with the reaction to a new black lacquer cabinet range it had recently introduced.
