Floorcoverings franchise chain Carpets 4 Less, which was sold to new owners for £7m in 2010, has posted its first set of results since the change in its corporate structure.
Full year accounts for Experteffect Ltd, the trading company which was sold in April 2010, show revenue increased from £8.2m to £8.5m between February 2010 and January last year.
Pre-tax profits halved to £255,246. First filed accounts for the new holding company - Carpets 4 less (No 1) Ltd - for the ten months following the buyout, show a consolidated pre-tax profit of £109,271 on turnover of £6.9m.
Less than a third of revenue was derived from directly owned store sales, with the bulk of its turnover generated through supplies to franchised stores. Carpets 4 Less trades from close to 30 stores, the bulk of which are sited across southern England.
