Strong quarter for Carpetright; Makes inroads into developer/insurance markets
28th October 2009 | flooring | UK and Ireland sales at flooring chain Carpetright grew 12.2% in the three months to 24th October with same store revenues also rising, by 5.6%.
Predictions that Carpetright would benefit from the problems at chief rival Allied appear to have come to fruition. Carpetright opened a net 11 stores during the 12 week period, and also claims to have eaten into the house developer market.
In a pre-close trading update, it also said it is starting to establish itself in the insurance sector, by becoming the preferred supplier of carpets following a consumer insurance claim.
