Bed supplier prepares twin assault as it looks to expand supply and retail arms
11th May 2009 | beds | Beevers Beds plans to raise the profile of its manufacturing business while at the same time turning its retail arm into a one-stop home furnishings hotspot in the north east.
The firm, which manufactures under the Beevers Beds label and retails through the Beevers of Whitby moniker, brought traffic to a standstill at its flagship Whitby store as it started a £1m clearance sale intended to clear the path for new product departments it hopes will help the firm become a complete house furnisher.
Beevers, which also has stores in Bridlington and Scarborough, believes the £100,000 investment in its main store can spearhead an expansion into other areas of Yorkshire and north east. It also wants to increase the exposure of it bed manufacturing arm across the UK.
