Fire causes serious damage to Scottish furniture independent

Independent furniture retailer Beale & Pyper has had its Morayshire showroom ravaged by fire, but management have reassured customers and staff that it will bounce back to normality.

Large parts of the three floor building were destroyed in the blaze, which is thought to have been caused by an electrical fault.

The retailer, which also has a floorcoverings department, is a member of the Associated Independent Stores (AIS) buying group and has been trading for well over 100 years.
