Bathroom market to sink 9% in 2009
17th July 2009 | sales | The bathroom furnishings industry will have to wait two more years before growth returns to the sector, with sales expected to drop by 9% this year.
According to MBD, a research consultancy, the bathroom market fell 4% in 2008 to £2.5bn. In 2010, MBD is forecasting a 3% fall, before growth between 2011 and 2013 of 3-5% brings the market back to 2008 levels.
It expects public sector construction work to be the main driver of growth.
