Online sales to double for Barker & Stonehouse; Dining and homeware lead the way


21st December 2009 | retail | Eight store furniture retailer Barker & Stonehouse says online orders will double this year, after reporting record pre-Christmas sales from its website and a six-fold uplift in the past week.

 

The firm says dining room furniture and home accessories were the chief drivers of rising Internet orders.

 

Barker & Stonehouse is yet to file 2009 accounts, but in the year to March last year registered an operating profit of £0.5m from sales of £56.6m.

 

It has stores across the north east, Yorkshire and one in Nottingham in the East Midlands.
