DIY chain to increase furniture offer as it targets volume sofa market
28th May 2009 | retail | DIY retailer B&Q is to step up its campaign to become a mainstream furniture player by introducing upholstery to its Internet offer.
The home improvement retailer will introduce sofas later in the year along with cabinet furniture including dining sets and storage units. It will also add children’s furniture to its range.
Like many non-specialists, it thinks it can take some of the market share previously enjoyed by MFI.
