Artisan Furniture administration confirmed; 'It grew too fast'
2nd September 2009 | retail | Recovery specialists Campbell Dallas has been appointed adminstrator to seven store furniture chain Artisan. Eight of the firm's 23 staff have been made redundant, but a spokesman for Campbell Dallas said there may be hope for the firm to return under new ownership.
Campbell Dallas' David Hunter said, 'The company has expanded faster than their management structure was able to cope with [but] there may be scope for a profitable smaller business to emerge out of this and we would be delighted to hear from any potential investors.'
The administrator has set up a helpline for some 1,000 customers who it thinks have paid deposits for furniture. It expects to honour those deals and has called for suppliers to contact the firm to address any issues they may have.
