New chairman for buying group AIS

4th June 2009 | buying groups | Department store boss David Banbury is the new chairman of buying group Associated Independent Stores (AIS).

Banbury, a director of the eponymous Barnstaple retailer, succeeds Paul Glasswell of East Anglian furniture specialist Glasswells in taking over the non-executive ambassadorial role.

The chairmanship of AIS changes every two years and historically switches between department stores and furniture specialists.
