33 Land of Leather stores to start closing down sales

26th January | retail | Land of Leather is to close 33 of its 109 stores after administrator Deloitte admitted defeat in its efforts to find a buyer for the retailer’s entire store portfolio.

Staff at the stores in question have been told, and pre-closure liquidation sales will get underway this week. Three of the stores are thought to be in Ireland.

Joint administrator Lee Manning said, ‘While we are making every effort to sell Land of Leather as a going concern, it is apparent that interested parties will not buy all of the 109 stores.’
